The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on August 24, 2026, issued the Draft Landour Cantonment Building Bye-Laws, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The draft Landour Cantonment Building Bye-Laws, 2026 prescribe the framework for construction and development activities within the Landour Cantonment, including requirements relating to building plan approval, land use, setbacks, FSI, building height, parking and occupancy.
•The draft also provides standards for structural safety, accessibility, sanitation, water management, rainwater harvesting and energy conservation.
•It classifies areas within the Cantonment into different zones and prescribes specific development controls for each zone.
•The proposed bye-laws are intended to replace the existing Landour Cantonment Building Bye-Laws, 1926 and modernise the regulatory framework.
•Any objections or suggestions may be given within 30 days from September 10, 2026.
